Meath minor players next year?

(Oldest Posts First)

Just to get things started, I want to see what the talent is like at minor next year as we are coming very close to a manager. I wonder this year can we get close to the Dubs in Leinster at minor level?

Next year's minors will surely be made up of the current under 17 panel! Give and take a few! Some of this year's minors are still eligible for next year!

The twins from summerhill along with irlagh hughes should be there along with a good few prospects from donashmore ashbourne like Anthony mc ELearney,Niall kavanagh, and John wilson.Ronan jones from dunboyne is also a shoe in

NIB! I agree with you on the summerhill boys and ronan Jones! They were a strong part of the panel from last year!

Surely some of Skyrne and St Colmcilles current u16s squads will make it. They have given some legendary underage matches over the last number of years. Both clubs have been the backbone of their perspective Meath development teams .

Yes Kepak10. Cilles lads like young Conlan, McElernay, Brodigan, Brown, McMahon and Lynch must be in the mix.

Yes Kepak10 I agree that Conlon from Colmcilles along with Campion from Skryne from the under 16 should get a look in. Ronan Jones is a no brainer and David McEntee will probably be starting.

Absolutely Leitrim and Seasider. Campion and conlon are the stars of either team but Darragh Brodigan, Cilles along with Paddy Carpenter, Skyrne are up there too. Also Jason Reddy on his day can be as effective as any forward in the county for his age. Thomas Reilly (definite starter) and Eanna Kelly Lynch from Wolfe Tones, plus Conor Nash from Simonstown should be included.

In sure there couldn't be that many young lads who have another year of minor ready for the step up like you are suggesting this is county football not club

If they are good enough why not mr Popular. There were 5/6 u17's on this years panel. I seem to recall the successful Tipp minor team of 2011 consisting of mainly players that had 2 years left in the grade. There is no reason why some of the players mentioned should not be considered because of their age.

I never said they shouldn't be considered but it is a big step up.i think there was 8 or 9 last year in the twins and iarla Hughes (summer hill),David McEntee ,Ronan Jones (Dunboyne),Ben Hoey (Simonstown),Adam Carey(senclestown),padraigh McGowen (slane),Thomas Mcguinness(rathkenny ),Dara Lynch (Trim),Tomas Reilly(Wolfe tones )

Very talented squad we have next year! All ireland contenders potentially.. Ronan jones man of the match in the feis cup last week, not a better minor in the country in my opinion.
