Yeah very good Chance. Would have Rathered Play Down a bit earlier but 4 home games is a good omen for us hopefully chriscart580 (Meath) - Posts: 376 - 18/09/2014 13:11:56 1653388 Link 0 |
if this team is to go anywhere they should be winning promotion this season. brian (Meath) - Posts: 1954 - 18/09/2014 13:23:30 1653392 Link 0 |
Glad we have four games at home. First two games are crucial in terms of promotion. Roscommon are a decent outfit aswell. Nothing easy about this division though, we need to go all out from day 1 to be in with a shout. MarkMyWords (Meath) - Posts: 498 - 18/09/2014 13:33:54 1653400 Link 0 |
In my opinion we play the best teams away. ziggy320001 (Meath) - Posts: 2432 - 18/09/2014 14:22:25 1653433 Link 0 |
Being realistic,at best we will win ONE away game,and likely lose to Cavan at home ziggy320001 (Meath) - Posts: 2432 - 18/09/2014 14:23:20 1653435 Link 0 |
Will Kildare game be moved to Croker as double-header with Dublin-Donegal I wonder? doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 18/09/2014 14:23:52 1653436 Link 0 |
Tough Division 2 as always but yes we must look for promotion this time round and the first two games are crucial as Galway & Kildare will be seen as promotion hopefuls, take 4 points from those two games and we will have a lot of work done, if that fixture list doesn't focus the mind of players & management I don't know what will Richieq (Meath) - Posts: 3734 - 18/09/2014 14:25:28 1653437 Link 0 |
I think given our injuries and I hate to say but we'll probably have more come the league knowing luck we'll do well to get promoted out of div2 this season, but it's really up to both players and management to step up and show a bit of grit for the cause, I'm fed up tame Meath defeats, if we're going down (in a game I mean, not referring to relegation) I want to see us going down swinging. Very little to choose between the teams in Div. 2. With four home games it gives us a fair chance of promotion, but just as easily we could be hanging on at the end. If we are progressing then we should be in shake up for promotion, big year ahead for MOD and current squad, hopefully have a full hand to play with. seadog54 (Meath) - Posts: 2128 - 18/09/2014 21:36:12 1653654 Link 0 |
Its key that we have Conor Gillespie fit and well for the season,by far our best mid and has leadership qualities. Also it would be fantastic to have Alan Forde,Cillian O'Sullivan and E.Wallace fit and well. They would add serious pace and quality to our forward line, wouldn't be surprised to see Daire Rowe added either. ziggy320001 (Meath) - Posts: 2432 - 18/09/2014 21:51:55 1653663 Link 0 |

A few defenders I would like to see tried.. ziggy320001 (Meath) - Posts: 2432 - 19/09/2014 13:54:43 1653874 Link 0 |
I think Flanagan should start ahead of Meade in the middle. Also, one to watch is Harry Rooney. A powerful lad, works his socks off and he's good in the air. He had a great game for Skreen against o mahonys. royalezy (Meath) - Posts: 9 - 19/09/2014 16:40:40 1653990 Link 0 |

Htaem while I'd agree in the most part, I don't think Donegal were any great shakes in league this year, and we probably should have beat them. royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 20/09/2014 20:34:05 1654332 Link 0 |
I understand what you're saying royaldunne and without a doubt we should have beaten Donegal, I was furious straight after that result but still with them and Monaghan out of the way I think MOD really has to target promotion if he's serious about making progress. I'm not saying that I'm confident of getting promoted because we have some very tough games but given the relative lack of strength in next year's div2 relegation would be totally unacceptable.
