Yeah very good Chance. Would have Rathered Play Down a bit earlier but 4 home games is a good omen for us hopefully

if this team is to go anywhere they should be winning promotion this season.
Galway and Down have new managers and Kildare at home will be the main threats to promotion so we should be aiming to win through.
Knowing us though we'll struggle and might be in there with a shout in the last game and screw up

Glad we have four games at home. First two games are crucial in terms of promotion. Roscommon are a decent outfit aswell. Nothing easy about this division though, we need to go all out from day 1 to be in with a shout.

In my opinion we play the best teams away.

Being realistic,at best we will win ONE away game, and likely lose to Cavan at home

Will Kildare game be moved to Croker as double-header with Dublin-Donegal I wonder?

Tough Division 2 as always but yes we must look for promotion this time round and the first two games are crucial as Galway & Kildare will be seen as promotion hopefuls, take 4 points from those two games and we will have a lot of work done, if that fixture list doesn't focus the mind of players & management I don't know what will

I think given our injuries and I hate to say but we'll probably have more come the league knowing luck we'll do well to get promoted out of div2 this season, but it's really up to both players and management to step up and show a bit of grit for the cause, I'm fed up tame Meath defeats, if we're going down (in a game I mean, not referring to relegation) I want to see us going down swinging.

On a more positive note, we have 4 home games, we're home to all 3 Leinster teams and 3 of our last 4 games are at home so we really should push for promotion and it would be great of course to get it, also what a last day we'll have against Cavan if we're still in with a real chance.

Very little to choose between the teams in Div. 2. With four home games it gives us a fair chance of promotion, but just as easily we could be hanging on at the end. If we are progressing then we should be in shake up for promotion, big year ahead for MOD and current squad, hopefully have a full hand to play with.
KOR the exception

Its key that we have Conor Gillespie fit and well for the season,by far our best mid and has leadership qualities. Also it would be fantastic to have Alan Forde,Cillian O'Sullivan and E.Wallace fit and well. They would add serious pace and quality to our forward line, wouldn't be surprised to see Daire Rowe added either.

Not at all confident for the first time in my life.
Galway can kick on under new management, its normally theccase a team get a bounce with new manager in place, also would agree with dh I can see Meath giving up home advantage to play Kildare in Croke park as part of the spring series, so we back to 3 home games, need a more defensive unit next year no point in having lads that can run a 100m in ten flat if they can't put the ball over the bar, I'm hoping to see Nicky judge in the back line , midfield pairing of Gillespie and Meade half forward line of O'Sullivan tormey and biggy , then maybe we have a shout, but lads let's not forget Cavan hammered us under mod last time we met , so let's not get carried away , we could get beat by galway, Kildare, Cavan and Down , these are the games we must win. I'm not even thinking of promotion at the minute , I think there's as good a chance of relegation as promotion. One final thing was any of the management team at any of the senior or inter games last weekend??? If not why not.

Agree with you,we could get relegated as much as we could get promoted. Not too sure about Meade at midfield,it is a must that we have Gillespie alright.Biggy needs to improve his workrate,he was very poor last year. With players like O'Sullivan,E.Wallace and maybe Forde back,Reilly has a lot to do.
I would be shocked of management were not at the games last weekend..

A few defenders I would like to see tried..

Sean Curran - Not sure what happened last year with him
Conor McGill
Nicky Judge - I see alot of people talking him up.

Forwards

Cillian O'Sullivan
Alan Forde
Daire Rowe

At least try them early in the year .

I am sure O'Sullivan will be back alright though.

I think Flanagan should start ahead of Meade in the middle. Also, one to watch is Harry Rooney. A powerful lad, works his socks off and he's good in the air. He had a great game for Skreen against o mahonys.

Great to see peoples delusions yet again.

Meath are not going anywhere fast. I expect Meath to consolidate Div.2 status but I cannot see Meath getting promoted.

I hope for a great change to the panel with actual footballers on the team unlike what was experienced this year.

I'm not sure what delusions you're referring to because I don't think there's too many of us expecting great things out of Meath next year, we're just hoping for some sort of progress instead of standing still or worse going back. But let's not pull any punches either, while div2 is going to both tough and competitive next season, it doesn't have the same quality as this year without Donegal and Monaghan so let's at least hope for the best instead of fearing the worst.

Htaem while I'd agree in the most part, I don't think Donegal were any great shakes in league this year, and we probably should have beat them.
That been said I expect galway to be lot better this year,: also I'd say our game v Kildare will be in Croke park , and the Cavan game worries me too.

I understand what you're saying royaldunne and without a doubt we should have beaten Donegal, I was furious straight after that result but still with them and Monaghan out of the way I think MOD really has to target promotion if he's serious about making progress. I'm not saying that I'm confident of getting promoted because we have some very tough games but given the relative lack of strength in next year's div2 relegation would be totally unacceptable.
