Minor Championship

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

The same question seems to get asked every year, so it might as well be me who asks it this time around - Does anyone out there have the slightest idea when the minor championship is due to start. I have searched all the planners on the county board website, and there is no mention of it anywhere.

And if someone can answer that one maybe they can shed some light on what format it might take this year.

With all the talk of player development it seems strange that the most important underage competition of the year is not even worthy of a mention on the county board's fixture planner.

i see U-17 finals coming up so minor must be soon now once they done. Maybe they wait till Minor Hurling team plays in Final. Early September start I say..

one good thing At least by then some teams be done in Championship and minors wont be over burdened. but other side is Very bad that no Minor Football since May some summer league should have been played, playing U-17 was wrong. Lads be away to college now and Minor teams be hard to get out...

Seneschalstown will win Div 2 , they are too good to be even in that division, they are the backbone of the Junior B side that should wrap up another championship this weekend, Dunboyne could be tested by skryne and Walterstown should be good enough for Div 3 , not sure about the rest

I could say the same about the Tones! They have a couple of minors playing for their junior b side and they are far to good to be in division 2! They lost the division 2 league final earlier in the year and should win it this time round! They have a couple of young prospects who I wouldn't be surprised to see on meath minors next year!

Gotta Agree glenny . Killary Emmets should end up in the business end of the year ( Div 3 final ) , though walking it is a phrase one should always steer clear off .

Especially with Rowe on top form.

I am sure Walterstown, Bective/Dunsany, Rathkenny and St Pats will have a say in who walks it. Rowe is quality but them teams are no ducks.

Division 1 will be contested tightly with Dunboyne and Summerhill two of these teams look like strong outfits. and division two looks like curragha after beating the favourites trim.

It's going to be a Dunboyne Summerhill final, it was always going to be that way

From the games I have seen so far Dunboyne will win Division 1. Summerhill are decent but do not have enough to beat them. People saying skryne are mad. Young skilful team but too many weak links.

Division 2 is proving to be very competitive. Trim, Senchelstown, St michaels, and wolfe tones all strong. Senchelstown look the form team.

Division 3 has been competitive with no one really standing out. Bective/Dunsany have Killary Emmets in one semi. Darie Rowe will prove too much for them. Walterstown and st pats will make up the other semi with Pats geting to final and win.

Division 4 Moynalty to beat St Cuth in the final.

Division 5 Nobber

Division 1 title will match up to Dunboyne and Summerhill two of the strongest teams in the championship. From a lot of observation through the last few weeks I think Dunboyne will take everything as they have no weak points in there 15 man team. Summerhill are not on form just yet making there championship dreams look slim. maybe next year could be their year. Also a disadvantage for Dunboyne is there non productive forward line, they show to be sloppy and inaccurate mostly pointing towards their full forward line.
