Now that the league is out of the way what team should MOD play in the first round of the championship assuming all injured players are recovered (except E Wallace of course). kingofclubs (Meath) - Posts: 321 - 10/04/2014 16:38:25 1573469 Link 0 |
Maybe it is a bit premature to pick a team. I think the management should view some club championship matches and they may be able to pick up a couple of extra players for the panel. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 10/04/2014 18:50:00 1573525 Link 0 |

Why would they pick a player from club games? They haven't done it to date (bar maybe Dalton mc donagh?). dubsout (Meath) - Posts: 220 - 11/04/2014 09:45:07 1573646 Link 0 |
dubsout- If you are serious about winning you obviously pick your best players and I would think that is fairly obvious!. Just because a guy has been on a development squad or indeed on an u-21 team does not and should not make him an obvious choice for a senior panel. You obviously think that a players performance at club level is irrelevant. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 11/04/2014 11:15:15 1573713 Link 0 |
browncows. But in general the lads who are on underage county teams are the main men for clubs. dubsout (Meath) - Posts: 220 - 11/04/2014 11:33:07 1573724 Link 0 |
dubsout- Most players are just coming to their best in their mid to late 20's -your still not to late (I mean too old). The best of luck to you and I hope you achieve your goal. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 11/04/2014 12:28:47 1573750 Link 0 |
Championship is 2 months away lads. Have we 2 months of lads picking almost identical teams to look forward to? I personally only care about who MOD and co pick... SmallHouse (Meath) - Posts: 291 - 11/04/2014 13:19:57 1573785 Link 0 |

Don't understand why people are picking burke for corner back. Meath played 3 their last 3 games without him and did very well. Foley91 (Meath) - Posts: 418 - 14/04/2014 17:08:46 1575094 Link 0 |

I would be concerned with that defence -weak half backline and I do not think that you can make defenders of players who have played all their football as forwards. Ideally you require pace in your half backline along with the ability to know when to man mark when required as well as having good distribution skills with the ball. However, any of the teams listed should overcome Carlow and that is with no dis-respect to Carlow who generally put up a good battle come championship time. browncows (Meath) - Posts: 2342 - 15/04/2014 11:34:12 1575384 Link 0 |

Burke should be in the half-back line or on the bench... ziggy320001 (Meath) - Posts: 2432 - 15/04/2014 17:53:57 1575641 Link 0 |
