Alan Forde - NOM

(Oldest Posts First)

Whatever happened this guy? He had bags of pace, was part of the panel a few years ago and looked very good against Kildare in the champ.I know he got injured, but did he get injured again? Would be very handy to have as part of the panel..

I agree Ziggy. He impressed me while he was on the panel a few years ago. I'd love to see him back involved if he was fit

But what is his story? Any NOM people on the forum know anything?

Absoloutely plagued by injuries the last year or two. Just coming back from a knee injury at the minute. Hopefully he gets a run of games without injury, if he does i cant imagine he wouldnt be back in the meath panel in a few years.

Ya I noticed that, hopefully he can stay injury free the next year or so,then and only then we will see if he can get back playing with Meath..

I watched him playing junior A against Dunboyne on Sunday and although he scored a goal I didn't think he was outstanding. Very strange to think he was starting and playing well for Meath less than 2 years ago and now he can't make the NOM first team

Alan Forde has been injured for almost 2 years. Working his way back. I hope he gets back to where he was 2 years ago but it will be tough.

Leitrim agree with you:Alan forde is a long time over his injuries now the simple fact is that he can't get on to the O'ma's first team..

Lads any of you that had injuries like Alan did will know it's not easy. He might lack the drive and motivation to get back to where he once was and maybe he just physically can't.

If he can and wants to I'm sure he's planning on getting back into NOm's first team this year and will give it a stab next year. He's got time on his side. Sure most on here didn't know who Stephen Bray was before he was 25.

He has a chance if he gets back. Look at David Bray for example, he had horrific injuries and has bounced back to be a real contender for a place on the full forward line.
That said, Shane McKeigue and Mark Ward never got playing again after their injuries.

Alan Forde WILL be back! Having seen him train and play constantly, he is one of the most athletic players meath have produced in recent years and has the footballing ability to back it up.. Hopefully he has gotten over the numerous injuries he's had as this lad is a match winner.. Minor final against Ratoath, leinster final with Pats, under 21 final with O'Mahonys he was the standout player by a mile, you don't lose that talent with an injury.. He'll play with O Mahonys Seniors this year and Meath the next year

Mark Ward, Just when his name is mentioned, Has he given up football or what? I remember seeing his name in a Junior team for NOM last year and possibly their hurling team too.

Very poor form to discuss an individual the way some of you are discussing him! Ye he has talent and promised so much when younger but if you look at O'Rourke, he made it back to the top level so why cant Forde..
