McEntee's Backroom Team - Bernard Flynn???

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Where is Bernard Flynn??

Would he not be a huge addition to Meath management backroom team?

Has he excellent insight analysis into the modern game?

Has he the ability to gain respect and motivation to the Meath panel?

If the answer is yes to the above questions, Where is Bernard Flynn??

I would respectfully suggest that the answer is NO to all three questions.

Plus, I doubt very much that he would want to get involved. He has a nice sideline for himself being a professional hurler on the ditch. No way he is going to jeopardize that by actually having to prove himself at coaching/managerial level.

I would respectfully agree with you, he is currently involved with Mullingar shamrocks, however after a desperate run of defeats other backroom people were brought in to effectively run the coaching etc, . Bernard is a great guy, just not cut out for certain jobs.

yes your right he was a great player but he is not even any good at been a hurler on the ditch any way we don't need to add any one . Andy has one more year and if he can't cut certain players time to look to a outside manger.

I'm not saying he should be the manager, is there not a role there for motivational influence, be it advisory/mentor, in the peripheral . A player with shrewdness he was, knows how and what it takes o win silverware and if he could instill that into a fraction of the team why not. He has shown on his radio analysis that he can read the game in real time. A mentality of winning needs to return.

And to add what's wrong with Gerry Mc ? Didn't he help out with Killkenny hurlers. Quiet happy Gerry's involved.

Listened to him again on the wireless today and for me I reckon he could be more inspirational than those mentioned! There's an edge to what he says and how he says it. I tell ya lads he could be a great addition.

Bernard Flynn is not involved with Shamrocks in any coaching capacity this year. He was over them for a couple of years alright and was unlucky to lose the 2015 semi-final to St Loman's.

Happy with Gerry Mc for sure, just think Ben could add a different spark in the background, someone needs to get him on board before the new season begins.

Andy was appointed on a 3 year term, 1 from 3 leaves 2 years remaining not 1.

I know he isn't involved this year, BTW he was extremely lucky to get to semi final after loosing 3 games. Trust me I am well aware of club football in Westmeath, and just let's put it like this its not Bernie's choice not to be involved.

I mean he has one more year to do something the honeymoon is over. Yes I know he got a three year contact but this year is not good enough. rebuilding is going on a long time since 2001 it's not good enough any more two championship wins against louth and sligo beating by a bad Donegal team and still in division one. one lad on here said he is happy we beat roscommon in a challenge game what a joke

Here look what happened the last time we took an outside manager in, anyway such talk is nonsense our management team need time and the players need stability, there are far too many good things happening in Meath football right now and there is some great potential on our successful U17/Junior teams, lets focus on that.
