Dont see how NOM are favourites again! Always money to be made on club football, always some strange odds.
Don Ash/Dunboyne still two strongest teams in my opinion

Moynalvey could cause a few surprises if everything clicks! two O'sullivans, 3 harnans, forde, mcloughlin ..

Don/Ash after losing Deegan and the lad from Down from last year, plus Tormey only after having an Op on his cruciate!!! Wouldn't fancy them to much at all this year!! Dunboyne favourites for me this year, with Ratoath not to far away if they keep all the county lads fit this year. I agree with Moynalvey as a surprise package to cause and upset or two.

18 Senior teams. Absolute madness. Anyway, Ash B i dont think so. Dunboyne have a great squad but you could not ignore Ratoath, i believe they have a very good back room team

Anybody know when the first round is ?, I agree with Moynalvey as a dark horse. 2 O'Sullivan/, 3 Harnans, McLoughlin, Forde. Brian O'Reilly Meath minor last year. Adam Murphy minor this year. Ashbourne and Simonstown are weaker this year. To play the odds I would take Na Fianna or Moynalvey

Is it true Summerhill went to Portugal on a training camp?

Sure why not? So long as the club aren't getting into debt or anything, I don't see the harm. Its not that expensive to go to Portugal for a week. Sure the ex-pat gaa clubs all over Europe have to travel for matches even and organize flights and hotels.

I think Summerhill are in a very good position this year...they have 2/3 lads who arguably should be on the Meath panel (Dalton and Larkin definitely in my view) and then a lot of lads who were on county U21 teams (Gillespie, the Ryans, Dardis, Young). If those lads start pulling in the right direction (and going away on training trips indicates that they might be) then they could be a force to be reckoned with.

How many senior championships have your two strongest teams won in the last 50 years?

I don't think Don/Ash will do anything this year. They have lost Deegan to Na Fianna (Dublin), the Colgan chap is gone back to Down and Tormey is out for the year with a cruciate. I think a few other lads have left the panel also to go travelling. Ratoath have to be the team to beat with 6 of the Meath senior panel plus a few more decent players like Bobby O Brien and Gavin McGowan. Dunboyne will also be strong. They ran the eventual winners Simonstown to extra time last year.

yes,but there is a good panel at d/ash and young players who could step up. don't rule them out.

Don't see how that's relevant to this years betting odds!

true, dunboyne for me,but roughly 6-8 teams may well think they could win it.

I think the championship is wide open this year, a lot of teams look like they could really compete against one another. Moynalvy look like the dark horses for me. We will have to see have Ratoath learnt from last years disappointing campaign, they cant just rely on their county players like last year! Other lads didnt step up. Cant see NOM winning it, Alan Forde will be a huge loss and they dont seem to have anything coming through from under age. Dunboyne really had a chance last year to win the Keegan cup but they didnt make key decisions against Simonstown and were punished. They have a new manger this year which could make the difference and give them a little bit of bite that is needed when the going gets tough. Kells have really improved the last few years and have been very close, can they go that extra step this year? I think they need to find depth in their squad to compete and go the whole way. Nash is a huge loss to Simonstown, he really took games by the scruff of the neck last year when games needed to be won and drove the team on in the middle of the park. I dont think they will repeat their heroics this year. Hopefully we can see some exciting games in this years SFC, and maybe some big upsets.

Twenty seven. But only nine in the past seventy years.

I'm not sure what that has to do with the price of fish though.

I think NOM have a good chance of winning it this year, new manager and although Forde will be a loss I still think they have a strong squad. Dunboyne also have a good team but haven't done much in the last few years for some reason. What do people think of Summerhill? I haven't seen them play much or know a lot about them.
