1. John McCluskey Na Fianna
2. Liam Fergson Kells
3. James Andrews Trim
4. Padraig Kelly Kiltale
5. Steffan Kelly Killyon
6. Daragh Kelly Ratoath
7. Keith Keogan Killyon
8. Gary Kelly Kildalkey
9. Michael O,Grady Dunboyne
10. David Reilly Drumree
11. Jack Walsh O,Mahonys
12. Cathal McCabe Kiltale
13. Gavin McGowan Ratoath
14. Peter Farrell Trim
15. Luke Martin Dunderry

Subs , Cieran O'Rourke Trim,Mikie Cullen Trim,Luke Moran Trim, Eamonn McDonnagh Clan na Gael, Martin Healey Kildalkey

11 different clubs represented in starting 15 and 12 clubs in all represented in yesterdays squad. The net is cast far and wide by the looks of things

Martin Ennis is carrying a big squad because on my calculations only Keith Keogan, Padraig Kelly and Gavin McGowan have started a national Hurling Match from the starting 15 yesterday.

Looks like a real strong squad if you take some of the performances out of yesterdays match.

Had Wicklow many regular starting 15 players playing yesterday do any of you know ?

WHEN IS FINAL ?"
Final is Saturday @ 5 in Parnell.

Really looking forward to the league final on Saturday, I hope all the Meath GAA people get up to Parnell Park on Saturday and support the team.
Its about time that the hurlers get the support at games they deserve. So lets all get our friends and family's and club mates to travel to the match.
Are you going ??
We are a proud GAA county so its up to us to support our Football and hurling teams, Would be great if Hurlers win on saturday, Footballers win on Sunday and Kildare beat Galway. Footballers are then in Final, it would be a fantastic double if the footballers won the league and believe me they can we just need the results on Sunday and we will beat the Lillys in the Final.
I am going to Parnell Park on Saturday, and driving straight to Ennis after the hurling match , booked a room in ennis for saturday night, cant wait.

Picking the forward line will be very hard so much depth in that area of the squad. Best meath hurling squad in years surely?

Bigballer30- No Anthony Forde in your team and he the best hurler in the County IMO. Tough choices I agree in picking this team, we finally have a quality hurling panel who all have genuine shouts to be included in staring 15. Hopefully County supporters get out and support team this Saturday. Here's my team for Saturday.
1.Shane McGann
2.Sean Geraghty
3.Shane Whitty
4.Cormac Reilly
5.Shane Brennan

judging by some peoples possible line ups posted
they are either picking their own clubmen or are reading too much into the last two games

quigley is a certain starter , one of our best players this year

12 / 15 are certain starters
who plays in corner back spot and half back spot and mayby corner forward are the only ones hard to guess

a long time since the squad was this strong
its great to see how far things have moved but its so important to get out of this 2b
we are streets ahead of everybody in it and should be able to challange for promotion out of 2a
i think we should win by 5 or 6 sunday but we have lost these 2b finals before when we were the best team so anything can happen
wicklow wont be easy to beat

Toher will be with footballers. I would suggest they will also have Heffernan starting as he is a serious goal threat

Tough call to make with Gavin, he's only returning from injury and maybe held as impact sub, who would you drop for him if he starts? A great selection dilemma! As for Daragh Kelly, good young, progressive hurler who will mature over the next two years at intercounty but not ready at moment, defensively a lot to improve on. Toher and Burke will play football over hurling, why have them involved anymore??

Gavin Mc is the biggest goal threat on the Meath team, scored a goal in every Christy Ring game last year bar the first game against Antrim, also top scorer from play on the team, has to be in starting 15 if Meath wanna move up!
D kelly only coming back from injury so it'll be interesting to see what team Ennis goes with!!

Gavin mcGown an impact sub
He was our best forward last year

Big Big deal for Meath Hurling to move on from the Christy Ring sucess Meath cannot contemplate losing this Final. To lose would be as close to as disaster that could be possible to stay in the 4th Division and expect to compete in Leinster Hurling. Wicklow will be no push over but Meath have to push on and should win by 10/12 points put the trophy in the boot and move on to the immense task of winning one game in Leinster to avoid slipping back to Ring Cup. I expect the Westmeath game to be the one to target

Fair point. Not much good having 2 lads on the panel that cant line out for every game

I Don't agree. Burke is just about good enough to be on Panel and I for one think his time was done with the hurlers a few years ago.

Regarding toher he should 100% be on the panel and Should be starting whenever his situation allows him too.. He is arguably one of the most talented and versatile hurlers in the county.

Whatever about JT I don't know why the management feel they need to parachute Mickey Burke into the Hurling team whenever he's got a weekend off from the football?
He doesn't need him, he's already got a panel of players who are every bit as good or better than him in some cases so it must be quite unsettling on them when he suddenly appears in matchday the squad for no apparent reason.
Don't get me wrong, MB is a fine athlete and a fairly decent hurler but his last couple of outings for the hurlers were unremarkable, he didn't exactly slot into the team and it was clear from the way he played that he's not been Hurling, he might be fit but there's no stick work.
If he wants to play football let him do that, if he wants to play Hurling he needs to be working and training with the hurlers, he can't just dip in and out every few months and I can't understand why the management feel they need to do this, he brings nothing more than they've already got.

Would have to agree. It must be annoying for members of the hurling panel to see guys waltzing in and out when they are training every night.
MB should not be facilitated in anyway and he really is not any better than the players already at martins disposal. Toher I agree would be an asset to the hurling but he really needs to commit to one or the other.

Spot on. Big incentive for the hurlers. They are being viewed a bit different by the Meath public after last years success. Even before last year you would have said Meath were punching below their weight being in 2B but they really need to get away from it now to build on the Christy Ring success. With quiet a few hurling clubs in south Meath and with the optimism currently around Meath could quiet easily become a fair bit more competitive in hurling.
