Think it's a joke that the county board have fixed league games for the club's who have Meath junior players. It's coming into a crucial stage of the league for relegation and promotion and some teams will be without there best players. I heard that the cilles players are playing in there league match before the final as the cilles managment said that the county board do them no favours.

It's very poor from county board to fix a game for Saturday evening .cilles v Meath hill. Cilles have 6players on junior panel.

There is surely no way games will go ahead. They'll be called off surely - surely common sense prevails? If games go ahead it shows total disrespect for the players, the clubs affected, the county team manager, Louth, the Leinster competition and the leagues.

When was the last round of league games played? Was it May? So there hasn't been a round of league games for a month/5 weeks and now one is fixed for the night before a big Croke Park day out for lads. Probably the only occasion these players will ever play there. What is the rush. I have a simple question and it is why couldn't games have been played mid week this week or next week? They still can. Come on lads sort this out for all the clubs involved. Let common sense prevail and refix them to mid week. There's a simple answer there can we just use it?

Separately I see lots of Junior Championship games ahead this week. This is round 3 in some cases whilst there is only one round played for some senior and intermediate teams. If any first teams are being affected its very harsh on them

Andy McEntee has called for all games to be mid week, so we should see a change in the games to Mid week. Clubs not happy but common sense prevails, and very unfair to the lads.

Div2 Dunderry v St.Michaels on Sat night a joke considering Dunderry has 3 players in Croke Park on Sunday with Meath Junior

While it's tough that a lot of teams have to play league games without their county men, games have to be played because the way it is looking senior and intermediate football championship quarter finals won't be till the first week in September.
4 rounds of Football championship
3 rounds of Hurling championship
3 rounds of A league (For Most Clubs)
2 rounds of hurling league
Semi Final stages of the cup competitions
This doesn't include finals for cups or leagues. I'm sure the likes of Colmcilles and Dunderry have enough players to play a round of A league. It will also give fringe players on them panels a chance to show what they can do for the first team.

Point is well made but the junior is very different to senior. I expect that these players have all played in the league to date and also the league is now at the crucial stage. It must be frustrating for clubs to have players whipped off them when their wanst even a manager of this team 6 weeks ago. Games can be played mid week . Why were some games played mid week and the clubs with the biggest representation both fixed for the night before. Did nobody think before issuing these that clubs would be effected. I think this is wholly different from a scenario involving senior panel members. Dunderry haven't had Paddy all year and Cilles haven't had Biggy but at least they knew that from start of the year. There's a simple answer here that solves everything. Play games midweek

The simple answer is games shouldnt have been played this weekend......period, its fixed as a free weekend, not even noted as provisional games in certain scenarios, such as the one we find ourselves in now

I agree that any club with players on the Meath juniors should have their games push back to next Wednesday as it wouldn't make that much of a difference because there doesn't seem to be any clashes. However clubs such as Moynalvey, Ratoath, Simonstown and Ashbourne have had to deal with this problem the whole year so I do think that the other clubs can take a hit for a couple of league games.
Unfortunately it's not possible to play games mid week lads are away in college from January to May, a lot of players work in Dublin/Cavan/Kildare and and rushing home for a game mid week is not ideal, then there is the second and third teams of a club and even dual clubs. I remember not playing a club game for 3 weeks and then playing 5 games in 7 days a couple of years ago as games were called off because of the county teams.

Well done to the Meatn Jumiors today , it's nice to get some Silverware. The Senior Panellists stood out today. For Meath , Ross , Keneally , etc . Long may their run continue this year . We could be doing with a bit of sunshine .

Into the All Ireland semi against the winner of the British section so looks like a dead cert All Ireland final. Kerry vs Leitrim in the other side. Kerry Meath final looks almost certain
