Replying To MeathNo3:  "Its the players who seem to be in prams and playing with toys. Not One Meath player stood up to his opposite man. Even when one of them stuck a knee into a back noone jumped in to show the team wouldnt take that."
We know all that but thanks again for stating the obvious. Seriously, can we not move on from this now??

Hard to know where this Meath team really are, since the Down game we seemed to make significant progress and went into saturday expecting a good tight game. What we got a hammering, and comprehensively beaten all over the park, it was a huge dent to the confidence I don't know how this team will cope with it.

Still I have to say, I honestly don't think we're finished yet (I know we have a game left anyway but you know what I mean), we're no Dublin or Kerry, or Kildare for that matter but we certainly didn't do ourselves justice on saturday, not by a long shot. If we play to our best then we can beat Sligo and hopefully get a bit of momentum going, if we don't perform then it's going to be a short summer but I have a feeling we could sting left in us yet.

It may not be Sligo, possibility of game been awarded to Antrim or more likely a replay. ( too many subs used) Not sure how that would affect draw

Looked grand in the warm ups on Saturday, was annoyed he didn't get to come on

Wouldn't be worrying just yet about Sligo. They might have to replay their game with Antrim after a possible seventh sub was used...

What would be your 6 forwards if you named him at 11? My opinion is it could work but would be slightly worried about him being further away from goal ?

Yeah i agree don't think we can afford to have too far from goal!

Here are both teams from the weekend and the semi final from three years ago,we won by 7 points in 2014 and it could have been more in fairness. On saturday were battered by 9 and could have been more. However the most interesting statistic is that both teams had 8 of the same personal playing in 2014 and saturday(all starting). The worrying thing in my opinion is how far kildare have come ahead of us in that 3 years.I do agree it's impossible to replace the likes of kevin o reilly and stephen bray over night but it just shows us we are simply not producing the players to compete at this level.

not a bad idea, seen him play center forward for dunboyne a few times where he played great, o'sullivan and biggy could be the wing forwards, the problem would be who are the the corner forwards if you move lenihan to 11, Newman and McMahon probably. Funny I remember when Cian ward was playing well a few years ago at corner forward the same discussion was had, could move him out to the 40 to get him more involved.

I would put biggie as target man inside. Move lenihan out. I'd also consider putting Harnan half forward if lenihan stays where he is. Have Lenny and biggie as two man inside targets potentially.

The striking thing for me comparing that 2014 team to the 2017 team is the loss of O'Rourke, Reilly, Meade and Tormey - 4 big, strong men who's physicality hasn't been replaced.

I'd didn't even take 3 years, Kildare were muck in 2015 and 2016 in particular but their transformation in less than 12 months has been remarkable, now what that is exactly down too I don't know but I haven't seen such a transformation in a team so quickly since Donegal in 2010-2011 and I am more than interested to see how they perform against the Dubs, presuming they don't fall at the feet of Westmeath. This Kildare turnaround is quite amazing if you compare performances to last year.

We need Newman back big time..Bit of a target man plan if not Sean Tobin.Inside forwards too small..

I know I named a few diffrent teams but still guessing...

3.McGill
4.Tobin
5.James Mcentee
6.Power
7.Shane McEntee

9.Graham Reilly

11.O'Sullivan
12.Cian O'Brien
13.McMahon
14.Newman /Tobin
15.Lenihan"
I think that you are being a bit too loyal to some players there. Andy Mac himself was quite critical of the players and I think it's time to make changes (within reason and within the current panel of course).

Here is what I would go for and I would like to see if the hunger is there from some players that have got very little opportunity so far.

Paddy O'Rourke
Keoghan
McGill
J. McEntee
Conlon
Power
Harnan
Menton
C. O'Brien
A. Douglas
M. Newman
R. O.Coileann
Lenihan
G. Reilly
COSullivan

I updated my team to include Harnon instead of Shane McEntee. Only Difference in out 15 is Douglas for McMahon..
