Now that inter county football is finished for another year, fixtures for the club championship will begin in a few weeks.

Who do you tip to win the championship?

I've put 20 on cilles.
However once whoever wins perform satisfactory in Leinster I'll be happy.

I think it could be a team like Summerhill that could win it this year, always a decent team. Simonstown will go far I would guess but probably not enough to win it.

The loss of McMahon will be massive for us.
Dunboyne for me.

The teams I see in contention for the Keeghan cup are:
Simonstown
Summerhill
Dunboyne
NOM
Kells
Tones
and not in order although I do think the team with the better players will win and if I had to analyse further I would say it will be a team that has won it over the last 4 or 5 years. The better teams do not rely on a single player. Other teams which could well are Moyalvey and Ratoath
The championship is wide open as most will know

Somebody said collar bone to me but anyway its in that general area, hope he can return as he certainly is a big loss to Ratoath

Yeah heard collar bone at the SHC game during the week as well (he's a massive loss to the hurlers too).
I'd say it'll be 3 months more or less out for him.

As an outsider looking in on meath football I must start off by saying the standard of meath football is not in a bad state i watch championship games in meath kildare and dublin and of the 3 this is the most competitive with dublin and kildare both having 2 clubs far ahead of the rest (sarsfields and moorefield , Vincents and Ballymun). so as a neutral I am looking forward to a championship where atleast 5 teams have a chance of winning it out I will start with group A.

Group A
Rathkenny v Duleek/Bellewstown 2 of the poorer teams in the group but 2 sides who must be admired for their work rate and doggedness ,close game rathkenny to shade it. VERDICT RATHKENNY

Summerhill v Gaeil Colmcille . A young team in rebuild vs a young team which has been building the last few years . summerhill with some big name forwards such as the daltons and dardis however the dogged kells boys should wear them down .Lar wall should be well capable of seeing this one out as he has dished out some footballing masterclasses to the likes of better opposition such as na fianna twice in the last 2 championships. kells by 4 or more . VERDICT KELLS

Wolfe Tones v Donaghmore/Ashbourne tie of the group 2 evenly matched teams . ashbourne missing alot from last year. tones a team with a mix of youth and experience . VERDICT don/ash

VERDICT FOR GROUPA
1. kells
2.ashbourne
3.tones
4.summerhill
5.rathkenny
6.duleek

Group B
St Colmcilles v Navan O'Mahonys . A team on the up vs a team on the way down . navan with more big game players and should produce .VERDICT NAVAN
Moynalvey v Simonstown . THe dark horses vs the champions . simonstown nashless this year vs a moynalvey team with big scorers such as mark o sullivan and david mcloughlin. VERDICT MOYNALVEY
Blackhall Gaels v Seneschalstown. poor teams . going to give senchelstown the nod here . VERDICT SENESCHALSTOWN

VERDICT FOR GROUP B
Moynalvey
Simonstown
Navan
St.Colmcille
Seneschalstown
BHG

Group C
Ratoath v St Patricks underrated teams no mcmahon should make it close. VERDICT RATHOATH
Dunshaughlin v Na Fianna always tight both on the back of narrow defeats na fianna by 2 is what im feeling. VERDICT NA FIANNA
Skryne v St Peters Dunboyne They say if you cant say anything positive dont say much . VERDICT DUNBOYNE (by a cricket score)

VERDICT group C
Dunboyne
Ratoath
Na Fianna
Pats
Dunshaulin
Skryne.

final championship predictions i know its early but anyone of the following could do it
Dunboyne Ratoath Na fianna moynalvey kells.
im going with dunboyne to win it beating moynalvey or na fianna in the final .with either dunboyne beating the other of the 2 along the way or na fianna beating moynalvey or the otherway around . duleek to get relegated . harry rooney to return to save skryne. im more than likely wrong and well able to take others opinions onboard.
