Just thinking about the game yesterday, as i watched i presumed it was definitly one of the worst ever. but in the cold light of today i actually believe it wasnt just as bad. we scored 0-16 points, enough to win most games. just wondering if people can think of real league stinker performances. dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 685 - 06/02/2017 18:54:48 1952942 Link 0 |
Cavan last year 14 point turn around, lead by 7 then behind by 7, laois couple years ago up by 9 lucky to draw. Two terrible games.

I remember Cavan gave us a bad tanking under Boylan in around 2003/2004. CastleBravo (Meath) - Posts: 1642 - 06/02/2017 20:53:32 1953017 Link 3 |
I remember that. I think that cost Mickley Mcquilan his place

My bad. Sorry, I didn't read the question properly! Anyway, better to focus on positive stuff! The big comeback vs Sligo in PT a few years ago springs to mind (2013). GlasagusOr (Meath) - Posts: 1348 - 06/02/2017 21:25:07 1953037 Link 0 |
Indeed I was at it, an awful hiding that came straight after the hiding in Roscommon, the media had us wrote off as a team and remarkably they won the league after a playoff win over Tyrone and a comeback win against Donegal in a quarter final in Clones if my memory serves me well and then a semi final win over Cork that was as rough a game of football as I ever witnessed, often forgotten about but it was probably the most bad tempered games between Meath and Cork at the time, Roscommon and Antrim were certainly were two bad defeats although that hiding against Monaghan and the defeat to Louth that relegated us are on an equal footing.

Meath "fans" are the worst in the country. What kind of a thread is this? utterly embarrassing. Every year this happens, every single year. We win a game and we look like all Ireland contenders, we lose a game and its without a shadow of a doubt that "it was the worst performance they have ever witnessed" 10 years in a row at this stage that the worst performances of all time have been witnessed. edd (Meath) - Posts: 48 - 07/02/2017 03:08:23 1953132 Link 1 |
We lost to Antrim in the league at casement park in 1990 i think by about 20 points

Spot on Richieq. That year the games consisted of four quarters and against Donegal we only scored 1 point in 1st qtr. It took 2 goals in final quarter to win it with a bit to spare, you could say that that day they discovered the 'mojo' Cork was rough outing alright with lads being smashed into the advertising around the pitch.
