Replying To Ratoath Royal:  "Carlow in the semi final is it?
I see they beat Tipperary today having already beaten Wicklow and Dublin."
Think that is it, who is in the other semi do you know ?

Offaly are through in their group. The other group has a decider today - cork v Laois - so the lads will be playing one of those 3 on the 11th

It is Carlow on the 11th March, chronicle tweeted it yesterday. Hopefully it's at home as we've had 2 away games already

Beware the IDES of March .
I'd expect this group of players to deal with Carlow, and reach the league final . Though Carlow have put in some reasonable performances already this year . Don't put too much emphasis on the Dublin losses , as I have heard it from a very good source that the Minor league team for Dublin this year as has been the case for a number of years is their U17 Development Squad ( which was also not great) . And the same group of Dublin players did not do much at Gerry Reilly Level two + years ago if ye recall . . Overall there's a good blend of players involved from the U17-U18 bracket that can make a difference , especially if they required to come off the bench .
This year is our last chance of some silverware at U18 level, so all the stops must be pulled out this year to try to achieve this. One of those things was promoting a number of players from a very good development team in the Minor panel ( Walshe, Byrne , Matthews , Ryan , Bannon , Courtney , Watters, Morris , an other ) . With a number of them now integral to the team along with a core of good players from the original minor team panel , things would be expected to happen this year , League possible ( though there are some unknowns here ) , Leinster Championship at least ( Highly Likely) .

Yeah - some good points there! But I am sure some of the other counties are thinking along the same lines! I think Colm Coyle will keep the lads grounded as they build up to the championship first round. He has been mixing the squad up over the last 3 games.

Correction : Colm Coyle hasn't mixed the squad for 3 years , he has mixed the squad this year and brought in 10 of last years U16 squad . 8+ of which are still in the panel . This is the first year Colm has had any other panellist in . And best of luck to him . I hope we do well this year , and be remembered because the Meath boys won the last U18 Minor title at Leinster / All Ireland level . .Call me pedantic Pat.

I said he had been mixing teh squad up over teh last 3 games! (not years!) - he has given most (if not all) of teh lads a competitive run now.
