'general fitness is different compared to athletic fitness. Also you could be training really hard, but it could be the wrong training and what you eat is VERY important'.

If it was only a matter of what the were eating or fitness then we would be up with the Dubs. All teams are fit now and the all eat quite well- that in itself does not make a good footballer, or a good team. You will play little football in the present game if you are not athletic and of course you need a lot more qualities including being a team player.

Replying To OLLIE:  "Good man Royaldunne. Louth will do very well to stay in Division 3. They are the bookies favs to get relegated. But you have to have to faith and follow your team through thick and thin. I don't think Meath will have any worries about relegation. Meath to finish third in the league and might even sneak a promotion place. Anyway Royaldunne Merry Christmas and Happy New Year."
And the same to you Ollie me auld friend. I hope Santa is good to you. :)

Replying To Htaem:  "Promotion obviously should be the aim and McEntee won't be considering anything else, I doubt we'll hear much soft or apologetic talk from him. Whether we have the players or not is the burning question, in the last 2 years they've really disappointed and it's up to them now to turn things around and prove that at the minimum we're hard to beat rather than being a crumbling shambles, I just hope the hunger is there."
That's all we can ask for. Bloody commitment,
Look its human nature to hide behind excuses, but its alot easier if the head man is making excuses for you and your teammates, without saying no bloody way, you were at fault,

Thought he might take a rest after championship, his fitness and general health must be improving, great to see,
might see him back in a Meath jersey in new year

Suppose you wouldn't have too much training to do with the Inter-Pros. Really good player but he can only train once a week could he return to Meath like this?

Well obviously but the things I said are a must for starters.

If it was only a matter of fitness then how come MOD couldn't figure that out. Our fitness was pathetic the last 3 years and when you combine that with no mental toughness you get second half collapse after collapse after collapse. The Meath team was not fit, a blind man could see it. And some lads were clearly carrying excess weight that they wouldn't get away with in a top county

I was hoping Santa would bring me the new Louth jersey but I will have to wait for it in the new year. Safe Christmas to you and your family over the holidays.

How do you know who was, or was not fit? Where did you get all your expertise from, or have you managed any teams to be successful. Good managers are guys who can bring above average players into a good team in mo.

Does anybody know why meath played well and won most games in the first half last year but lost almost all games in the second half?

Did you look at any of our players, with the exception of a few they were not ripped like the top counties. And they were completely dead on our their feet. I am starting to think you might be MOD you are that sympathetic to him.

We have moved on from all that now. I said it before and ill say it again, it was not mods fault, he should NEVER have been in that position, he was never Ic manager material, the finger must point elsewhere for that debacle.
However we now have someone who can justifiably call themselves a ic manager, and who actually knows the basics of managing a county team, let alone one with such tradition.
