New Meath jersey

Replying To GlasagusOr:  "The new sponsor's brand name on their website is purely text (nothing fancy). The text/layout on the Meath jersey last Sunday was much the same, even the font - distinctive shape of the letter "E", although the colours of course were different - white and gold. Brands like to have colour consistency nowadays when displaying their logo across all marketing materials/channels. So unless DN design a whole new company logo (unlikely), the logo will probably be a mix of navy and saffron text as is. That will only really work on a white background. Be careful what you wish for! Things were different in the Kepak days, so the name itself was good enough. The colours used then were the ones that suited the county colours - I hope they keep this in mind if there is a redesign.

If only I had RoyalDunne's money. I could sponsor the team, and leave the jersey exactly as it is (the nicest jersey we've had in many years) and have no sponsor's name on it."
Ha ha ha, only seen this now. I wish, was once upon a time but those days are gone, now just surviving lol.

As others have mentioned, the 2016 Meath jersey was a class design!
Just a shame it didnt have too many outings for the footballers last year.

So I hope the designers in O'Neills on the Long Mile Road, are consulting with their counterparts in Milan, Paris & New York
to come up with another sartorial masterpiece to be worn by the Royals during a long & successful 2017 season.

Here are some green & gold geansais from other codes that might give them inspiration -

Meath GAA posted an some images of the new jersey last night on their Twitter & FB pages. It doesn't look like it'll be radically different, though the numbers will be in the new font which has been used by a lot of counties in recent years. Looks like the back of it where 'An Mhí' is will have a bit of a pattern similar to the chest. All will be revealed on Monday...

Cameroon's shirts are usually an acquired taste and the back of that one is something else. Antrim like to look more like Meath on their travels. The new Meath shirt looks a similar enough shade of green to 2016.

I think its a pity we aren't going down the Masita route given that they are based in Meath and provide employment in the county.

Also, O'Neils seem to have the same design for every county outside of Dublin and Kerry. Would be unique for us to have a jersey made by a different brand.

Appreciate where your coming from but being honest I think O'Neills have the best quality and appearance. Designs are varying more now, look at the new Sligo kit which is very appealing as is the Cavan one and the present Donegal kit was a new departure also.

Well O'Neils have been proven and tested I suppose and as you say this year seem to have more variety to their kits.

Still Masita have some decent designs, see Dunboyne's new kit for example. Seems a lot of north Meath teams using Masita now - must be easier to wash the blood out ;)

Well what's the verdict folks.
I like the new style numbers and the dark and light shading through the middle. Not a radical departure tho in that the shade is pretty much similar.
Suppose the main thing is that we are still looking at it in August tho.... Fingers crossed.

Don't think it's much of a difference bar the sponsor. Glad I got last year's for £20 in the sale!

I really like the New Jersey, will more than likely purchase one. Would like to see the back - does it still have the 7 stars I wonder? Slightly deeper green too which I like.

A nice clean design.
I really wasn't a fan of the Tayto Park logo on the jersey the last few years.
Let's hope we get plenty of wear out of it.
I wouldn't care if we played in green bin liners once we are back playing in the Autumn in D3.

7 stars on the collar. O'Neills website has it up so you can look there.

Looks great, somewhat understated and even classy. Has all the good qualities of the 2016 jersey with a few tweaks here and there. Well done to all involved.
