Derry v Meath

Replying To AthboyCelt:  "I for one was not confident, and don't believe many were on this site either. No need to stick the knife in, we know where our standing is already. Good luck against Cavan - probably the hardest draw ye could have got but a game you could win though."
Thanks Athboy. As usual my 'friend' from Derry shows his usual lack of good grace. He has a habit of trying to rile people. The game was one that could easily have had Meath out of sight by half time if not for a goal saving block and a couple of other missed opportunities for goals. The level of support for Meath including a few players from the great teams of the past shows the passion for the county that has been sadly lacking in our own support. All of these things go round in cycles and hopefully it will not be to long before we see Meath and Derry at the top table again.

Indeed, his comments seem to have came out of the blue, everyone seemed to be of opinion it would be a tight game, it was, but saying it'll be a tight game which we hoped and gave reasons we could shade is not disrespectful, there was hope that we would see a backlash from the dubs game etc, but no one underestimated Derry, how could we after league game??
Anyway best wishes against Cavan, and hopefully you have a long summer

Derry now play tipperary or roscommon in the last round. If we had a proper set up that could be us with a great chance of a quarter final place against either kerry or Galway.

Personally I feel like we would have no business in the quarter finals. I think we are just better to start looking for a new manager (hopefully McEntee) and let him work with and prepare the squad for next year to see how we fare.

Ziggy , While he is the obvious choice , I'm not convinced this COunty board ,given the way they handled there last appointment will go with the popular vote . When do u think they will meet on this August /September ??

Oh I agree with you.But do they really want to upset people again? It is a chance for a bit of redemption for them..
