Quote: Not a bad looking team but not one player from winning Leinster teams Curraha and Ratoath is very strange. Very north meath orientated

theLutch -agree it is ridiculous the preparation put into this over the last few years and when you consider that club championship can be delayed for 3 months because of a county team. The best team should be put out irrespective of age as that is normally what you do if you want to win. These are the sort of changes required to improve football inside the county, not tinkering with club championships.

I blame the management, was the exact same with the under 21's....lack of ambition, interest etc.

As someone stated earlier in this thread , when Meath were competitive at Senior level . Meath Juniors were flying and were very competitive annexed a number of Leisters and the odd All Ireland Junior . it appeared to me that the Meath Junior team were been treated at that point as a stepping stone for the Senior Squad . Look back at the records and your see some very well known All Ireland medal winners that passed thru the Junior ranks before been promoted to the Senior ranks. Are we putting enough emphasis on the Junior set up . Coming together a week or two before the first round of a Cahmpionship is a joke , and anybody who says otherwise is trying to kid themselves and kid everyone else ..... Is there an interest at all at this stage ..... for the Junior . I think its an under utilised championship . And we should use it to develop senior players . We don't appear to be taking this seriously ....As a exponent of a foreign game stated .Fail to plan , Plan to fail .. But who is to blame for that ...

Unexpected result, but Louth probably took the game seriously. Why do we enter if we are not going to prepare in proper manner?
