Eamonn started the last two games of the league with Joey coming on for him in both games. I think Eamonn appeared in all league games.

Good question - did either of them line out for Meath at the weekend? They didn't play for their club and I didn't see them on the report from Kilmainham- Ratoath were misssing the two wallaces, the two o'briens, mcgill, power, mcmahon for Meath Football and mcgowan and Kelly for Meath Hurling (and a couple of Minors involved with hurling and a couple with minor football) against Nobber. Not really fair on the teams who will have to play them when they have all these county players back!

Before the first round of the club championship there will be 9 rounds of the A League played. After the first round of the club championship Meath will hopefully go on a little run in the Leinster/Qualifers, hopefully into June and late July. So while Meath are playing during that time clubs will have 4 rounds of A League to played over possibly 6-8 weeks. My point is, why oh why is there so many league games at the moment....why are there midweek games. Whats' the rush?

I agree,

2 rounds of the championship should have been scheduled in advance of Meath being out in Leinster.

As a player I've no problem at all with the amount of league games being played at the minute, it means that for once lads may actually get the holiday period............for a holiday and be able to plan in advance for the summer!! It also means that league finals may not have to wait until October or later to be played!! It is a cure for Ratoath alright with so many county players and then a few injuries that will occur but for all barring 1 league game I think they have had between 1-3 of the footballers available. Don't get me worn, its by no means a perfect system but its better than it has been over the last few years.

People complain when the leagues don't finish til October and people complain when the leagues are run off early. County board can't win either way.

It is inevitable that the club and county championship and leagues will become condensed into 1 if there is going to be any normality and system in place for a better fixture list. For example if our league was our championship would it not mean that a team would have 10 competitive matches
and could be played before the county championship even started. This would also mean that dual club players could be facilitated.
At the moment in both hurling and football clubs struggle in the league as their players (minor u21 and seniors) are not available resulting in some clubs not being able to fulfil fixtures and the whole year dragging on.
