Ricky Nolan was outstanding in goals for Duleek/Bellewstown
Duleek/Bellewstown will feel very hard done by as they gave away a very soft free in the closing stages of this Division 1 FL encounter with Simonstown in O Callaghan Park. Wayne Mc Carthy comfortably slotted home a free on the 30th minute to share the spoils with the home side. Chris Carney opened the scoring for the home side after Tony Cunningham set him through with an excellent pass. Peter Curran was next to step up to the mark after he pointed a fifty. A well worked move between John Flood and Curran resulted in an excellent fisted effort from Peter Curran which left it 0-3 to 0-2 in favour of Duleek/Bellewstown after 10 minutes of play. At this stage Duleek/Bellewstown could do nothing wrong after a well worked move resulted in Kieron Collins hammering an unstoppable effort to the bottom corner of the Simonstown net. Further points from Carney, another fifty from Curran, Tony Cunningham and another free from Curran left it 1-07 to 0-04 in favour of the home side. Darren Mills set things in motion early in the second half as pointed from close range. It was at this stage that Simonstown seemed to get themselves back into the game and it was a Wayne McCarthy goal to the top corner that left it 1-08 to 1-05 after five minutes of play. Points from Darren Mills, Karl McDonnell, and two more from Peter Curran seemed to be enough to secure the points but Duleek/Bellewstown gave away a soft free in the final stages and Wayne Mc Carthy stepped up to point which left it 1-12 to 1-12 in the finished. Excellent for Duleek/Bellewstown were Ricky Nolan, G .Hynes, Joey Martin, Tony Cunningham and Peter Curran. Duleek/Bellewstown - Ricky Nolan, D. Crosby, K. Smith, J. Martin, J. Deveraux, P.
