Thosnaigh Bhulf Tón go maith, bhí dhá cuilíní faighte acu tar éis trí noimead ó Sarán O Fionnagain agus Rioghan mac Ghinneartai agus bhíodar chun tosaigh ar feadh an chluiche go léir. Ag leath am bhi na cuairteoirí 1  07 do 0  05 chun tosaigh agus  nuair a bhfuair Saran Ó Fionnagáin cúl go luath sa dara leath bhí an beart beagnach déanta acu.Tháinig Longwood Clonard ar ais go laidir áfach agus ni raibh ach tri cúilíní idir na foirne le deich noiméad fágtha.

Tones led from start to finish but were tested all the way in this very competitive championship semi-final. Tones led by 6 points to three after 20 minutes. The visitors opened up a 6 point gap shortly afterwards when Saran O Fionnagain pounced on a Rioghan Mac Ghinneartai shot which rebounded off the crossbar to punch the ball to the net. The home side reacted well to this setback and added 2 points immediately before Tones Sarán Ó Fionnagáin pointed a free to leave it 1  07 to 0  05 at half time in favour of the Gibbstown Kilberry men.

Longwood Clonard made the worst possible start to the second half when conceding a goal almost immediately. The spade work was done by Jake Mc Fadden who was fouled after a brilliant turn over. Oisín Corrigan took the free and linked up with Saran O Fionnagáin who found the net. The home side rallied and scored 1 02 to get themselves right back in the game on a scoreline of 2  07 to 1  07 before Oisín Corrigan steadied the Tones with a fine point from an acute angle. Both sides then traded points with Iarlaith O Kelly Lynch scoring a fine point on the run. The closing stages were hectic and  Laochra O Fionnagain the Tones keeper pulled off a fine save in the closing minutes as the home side tried everything in a spirited comeback with 8 minutes of added time played by the referee.
