SHC: Win number 4 for Kildalkey

Kildalkey and Blackhall Gaels clashed in Dushaughlin in this Round 5 SHC match on Monday evening.

Blackhall got the best possible start with a goal in the first attack. Kildalkey responded with points from Paddy Conneely, a booming point from half back David Harmon along with fine efforts from James McNally and Conor Kearney. 

Shane Whitty added four points to the Gaels tally, 2 frees and 2 from play but Kildalkey finished the half strong with points from Conneely Kearney (2), Gary Kelly, Evan Fitzgerald, and McNally to leave the score at half time 0-10 to 1-5.

Enda Fitzgerald, David Coneely and Martin Doran done some brilliant defending while Podger Geoeghan kept the supply going into the forwards.

Martin Healy came on for Conor Kearney at halftime and the village men reeled off 7 points on the spin to lead 0-17 to 1-5 through the impressive Conneely (4), Evan Fitzgerald (2) and Sean Heavey.

Blackhall hit the next 4 points including 3 frees from Whitty but further scores from Brin Kelly, Conneely and Fitzgerald sealed a five point win for Kildalkey.

Kildalkey now go on to meet Ratoath in the quarter final but need to improve significantly to advance to the last four.
