JHC: Exit Kilskyre Moylagh

August 21, 2017

James O'Higgins Kilskyre Moylagh

Kilskyre-Moylagh 1-9 Killyon 2-12

All a little too late as Kilskyre-Moylagh bowed out of the Junior Hurling Championship with a battling display against a very impressive Killyon team.

Killyon got off to a flyer with a number of well taken points and but for frees converted by James O Higgins keeping them in touch Kilskyre-Moylagh were struggling.

However the second half was a different storey and with Kilskyre-Moylagh upping their efforts and a constant threat to the Killyon defence from Simon Deavey, Ben Traynor and Cian Lynch introduced off the bench. Only for the crossbar and good blocking from the Killyon keeper, Traynor could have bagged a couple of goals.  The goal did eventually come for Traynor along with a couple points from play by Ger Morgan and Deavey closing the gap to just three points and the match in the balance with ten minutes to go.

Ultimately the experience of Killyon came through in the end with a late goal to wrap it up and top the group.
