August 16, 2017

Moylagh's Sean Reilly

Moylagh 1-13 St Vincent's 0-06

Moylagh finished of the group stages of the junior championship with a fine over St Vincent's. The North Meath club are unbeaten and topped group B.

Played in Bective on Monday evening in very wet conditions both teams got it hard to get to grips with the slippery ball and scores were hard got.

Tommy O'Reilly was Moylagh's only scorer in the first twenty minutes with all four points and at this stage Moylagh were finding it difficult to shrug of the Vincent's challenge. The teams were level as the opening half entreated the last ten minutes.

Moylagh dominated those closing minutes. Peter Fox kicked started Moylagh into gear with a well worked point and this was followed by two Shane Brody scores and a point from Sean Reilly as Moylagh went in at the break leading by double scores 0-8 points to 0-4.

Sean Reilly started the second half as he finished the first with a point and a Eanna Brody goal on 45 minutes left Moylagh with a comfortable lead. Brody added to his tally from frees and substitute Niall McAlarney closed out the scoring as Moylagh went on to record a comfortable win.

The Moylagh defence was well on top through out the second half and all six back playing their part at various times only allowing St Vincent's in for two second half points.

In a good team display Shane Gibney, Kevin Foley, Emmet Grall, Tommy O'Reilly and Tomas Meila all worked extremely hard.
