SHC: Relentless Kiltale destroy Boardsmill

July 28, 2017

Kiltale's James Kelly

Kiltale 3-26 Boardsmill 0-7

Kiltale had a landside victory against a gallant Boardsmill in round four of the Meath senior hurling championship played in Lomans Park Trim.

The winners have scored 13 goals and 80 points in their four championship games to date and show no signs in letting up in their quest for another Meath senior hurling title.

Boardsmill stayed fighting to the end and none more so than the gallant veteran Stephen Gibbons who tried everything to drag his side into the game.

Kiltale had too much in every position and the scores started flowing from the throw in with points from James Kelly and goals from Anthony Forde and the dangerous Ross Ryan at full forward.

The Kiltale forward line looked dangerous and the Boardsmill defence found it hard to cope with a relentless attack. Forde and the Kelly's provided numerous scoring options.

Kiltale led at the break  2-10 to 0-5

Chasing a four in a row of Jubilee Cup titles Kiltale turned over the second half with the wind and outscored there opponents 1-16 to 0-2.

There were great displays in every sector for Kiltale. Shane McGann was threated a few times but as usual pulled off great saves. Donnelly, Garvey and Ennis formed a solid fullback line.

James Kelly filled in at centre back for Stephen Donoghue, on honeymoon, and he along with Ronan Ryan and Conor Shiren formed a very attack minded halfback line.

Kelly hit eight points from the number 6 position. Peter Durnin chipped in with 1-4 and ace marksman Jack Regan finished with ten points.

Kiltale meet Dunderry next and look destained for a semi final spot while Boardsmill face Killyon.
