JFC B: Good win for Slane

Slane 1-20 Dunderry 0-10

Slane took on Dunderry in the third round of the JBFC on Friday night and they started off on the right foot with Podge McGowan scoring from a free within the first minute of the game.

Dunderry and Slane then went on to exchange points with Slane's two scored by Eanna Mooney. A goal then came from Slane's Alan Harding after 10 minutes. The sides exchanged further points with scores secured by Podge McGowan.  Slane went on to take several scores without reply from Dunderry, these came from the boots of Matthew Tully, Tommy Macken and Ally Harding. Dunderry scored their fifth point after 27 minutes but Podge secured two further scores before the break in play. The score at half time Slane 1-12 to Dunderry 0-5 

Slane started the second half in the same way they ended the first with Podge scoring two points in the first two minutes of play. The teams exchanged further points, Podge, Ally and Eoin Gibbs scoring for Slane. In the last ten minutes two scores from Matthew Tully and a point from Dermott Lynch brought the full time score to Slane 1-20, Dunderry 0-10.
