The curtain came down on the Meath Cumann Na mBunscol football finals yesterday Monday June 19th with two replays in the Boys Division 2 final and the Girls Division 2/3 Shield final at a sunny Dunshaughlin.
It also marked the end of Mary Devine's involvement with Meath Cumann na mBunscol. The popular Rathbeggan teacher is to retire at the end of August.
In the schools finals programme Chairman Willie Lyons led the tributes:
'I would like to acknowledge the hugh contribution made by Mary Devine to the development and progress of Cumann na mBunscol, Coiste na Mi over many years. Mary is retireing from teaching at the end of August this year. Mary has served as Treasurer of the Board since 2002 and has been an overall organiser of the boys and girls football and hurling and camogie competitions. She has refereed many Cumann Na mBunscol quarter finals and semi finals.
