Dunboyne 4-19, Na Fianna 2-16

Dunboyne proved too strong with a convincing win over Na Fianna last Friday evening in Dunboyne's home grounds.

The beautiful weather allowed for a fast paced, high scoring game with some excellent scores displayed. Both teams were aiming to reach the Brendan Davis Cup semi-final and collect 2 points in round 5 of the Division 1 League but it wasn't to be for Na Fianna.

Dunboyne got off the blocks at a thundering pace. It took the visitors a little while to adjust to the tempo which didn't serve them well, as they never got on top of the game. The home side attacked at speed which Na Fianna's backs found hard to break. This isolated the Na Fianna goalkeeper who had no hope of defending one on one attacks on goal. Credit where credit is due to Na Fianna, they never gave up but it was Dunboyne with the 5 point lead at half time. Dunboyne: 3-09, Na Fianna 1-10.

The second half didn't improve for Na Fianna, they weren't winning breaking ball and at times, found it difficult to get the ball to hand. It is Na Fianna's first year back up in division one, they will take a lot from this game which will benefit them in their championship campaign.

Minor Hurling League Division 1 Final

A super win by Na Fianna minor hurlers in the division 1 league final in Dunganny on Sunday 21st May.

Na Fianna through hard work & determination, managed to pull away from Killyon/Longwood in the second half with 4 points to spare.
