Dunderry 1-12 Blackhall Gaels 1-8
Dunderry advanced to the quarter final of the Brendan Davis Cup with this good win over Blackhall Gaels.
Dunderry found it hard to get into the game and found themselves a goal down after 6 minutes. By the time they scored in the 17th minute through Conor Farrell. the Gaels led 1-3 to 0-1. Even though the visitors had the majority of possession Dunderry still managed to get to within 3 points by half time thanks to good scores from Davy Gilkeson and Stephen Coogan and Jordan Martin. Blackhall went in at the break 1-4 to 0-4 in front.
The 2nd half saw Alex Walsh replace Mickey Dowdall but after only 4 minutes Dowdall replaced the injured Brendan Wright. Dunderry came out a totally different team and in a 10 minute spell they scored 4 unanswered points from Gilkeson and Coogan. The visitors replied with a point before Dylan Keenan found the Blackhall net after good work by Dowdall and Conor Dempsey.
The visitors pressed hard but resolute defending helped Dunderry keep the lead.
In the final few minutes points from Gilkeson, Farrell and Coogan sealed the victory and put Dunderry in to the quarter final.
