Tommy McCullen eventually got the home side off the mark and Mark McCullen had a goal on 22 minutes but by half-time Syddan had eased into a 2-13 to 1-2 lead.

Brian Dillon added goal number three two minutes after the restart but Syddan didn't score again until Daire Rowe converted a free on 50 minutes.
