St Ultans 3-18 St Brigids 0-7
St Ultans took both football league Division 3 points with victory over St Brigids on Sunday morning.
The visitors opened brightly led early with two frees either side of a Gearoid Rennicks effort from play. St Ultans started to take control in the middle third of the field and managed to turn this domination in possession onto the scoreboard with 12 unanswered points to lead by 11 at the break. Ultans kicked 10 scores from play in the first half with Gearoid Rennicks, Darren Costello, Conor Smyth, Ronan Breslin, Emmet Costello, Cian Rennicks and Martin Dolan all raising white flags.
Any hopes of St Brigids comeback were ended when midfielder Ronan Galligan hit the net on the first attack of the 2nd half swiftly followed by points from Ronan Breslin and Cian Rennicks. St Brigids rallied with two free's but Ultans responded with an acrobatic volley to net from Centre Back Declan Galligan. Points followed from Conor Smyth his fourth of the afternoon and Ronan Galligan. Ronan Breslin the scoring with a point from play and a goal in the dying minutes to top score with 1-4.
St Ultans used 4 substitutes in 2nd half who all contributed well to the victory Eoin McLoughlin, Shane Mulroe, Conor Martin and Eoin Kavanagh. St Ultans will face Bective in the next round of the A League.
