Ballinabrackey 1-20 Walterstown 1-6
On a lovely evening for football Ballinabrackey played host to Walterstown in Division 2 of the AFL.
Both teams started brightly with each team trading scores in the opening 10 minutes.
It was Ballinabrackey however who got into their rhythm from there on and kicked a number of points without reply. Ballinabrackey managed to soak up Walterstown attacks and take some fine scores to stretch their lead leaving it a score line of 0-11 to 0-3 in the Bracks favour.
It was expected that Walterstown would have a big response in the second half and that was how in materialised with them scoring a well worked goal from the throw in.
It looked like it could be a game of two halves, however Ballinabrackey responded with a point and then a well taken goal which settled the Bracks.
They did not look back and continued to chip the ball over the bar and ran out winners.
