Peter Farrell hit an impressive 1-12 as Meath got the better of Wicklow (3-23 to 1-16) in this dress rehearsal for the Allianz HL Division 2B decider at Ratoath yesterday.

With both teams already guaranteed a place in the final, they used the game to experiment with their starting line-ups and the hosts seized the initiative early on thanks to goals from Luke Martyn, Gary Kelly and Farrell.

As a result, the team in green and gold enjoyed a commanding 3-12 to 1-8 interval cushion.

Padraig Doyle netted the Garden County's goal but it proved to be of no avail as the Royals finished with 13 points to spare.

The two teams will renew acquaintances in the decider next weekend - fixture details to be confirmed.
