St. Michaels 2-11, Dunboyne 6-06
Dunboyne made their trip to Carlanstown on Saturday evening last worthwhile as they hit the home side for six in the Ladies MFL.
Marion Farrelly got St. Michaels off to a brilliant start with a goal in the opening minute but Dunboyne cancelled out that score with a goal of their own at the opposite end a minute later. Points from Seona Lynch, Erin Lynch, Emma McDonnell and Marion Farrelly followed to give the home side a 1-5 to 1-0 lead on 10 minutes but the home side only managed a further goal from Farrelly for the remainder of the half as Dunboyne added 3-2 to lead by 4-2 to 2-5 at the short whistle.
The visitors opening score of the second half was a goal on 36 minutes which was quickly followed by a point. Erin Lynch opened the St. Michaels second half account with a point with Marion Farrelly following on splitting the posts on four occasions, but Dunboyne replied with three points on the spin and they have their keeper to thank for a string of excellent saves as the St. Michaels ladies went in search of goals to try and salvage the game but the visitors were having none of it and added two further points before the final whistle. Along with the scorers others to show well for St. Michaels were Lorraine Curtis, Áine Sheridan, Yvonne Farrelly and Erin Lynch.
