Dunsany's Jack Cottrell with Castletown's Alex Matthews during the U14 Group E Cup final in Dunganny.

Dunsany 3-15 Castletown 2-4

Dunsany proved too strong for Castletown in this U14  Group E  Final played in Dunganny this evening. Castletown had the better start and led by 4 points after 7 minutes with a point from Patrick McKenna and the first of Rian Monaghans two goals. But this was as good as it got for the eventual losers as Dunsany began to take control and with 19 minutes on the clock were leading 1-4 to 1-1. Castletowns remaining first half scores were a point from Paddy McKenna on 20 minutes and Rian Monaghan on 21 minutes to leave the halftime score Dunsany 1-4  Castletown 1-3.

Dunsany completely dominated the second period where Castletown didn't score until the 47th minute  Rian Monaghans second goal  and at that stage Dunsany were 2-14  to 2-3 in front. A point a minute later for Castletowns Patrick Mc Kenna was their last score for the Under 14 season. A goal and a point for Dunsany on 50 and 51 minutes left the final score 3-25 to 2-4.

Hard luck to Castletown in the Cup Final  who were going for the double after winning the league earlier in the year.
