After last Saturday's heroics from out county hurlers in Croke Park its back to the domestic scene for the commencement of the club hurling championships.

Neighbours Killyon and Longwood have the honour in opening the race for the Jubilee Cup. The two clubs join together for Under 16 and minor and will be no strangers to each other. Longwood struggled last year while Killyon were unlucky to lose out to Dunboyne after extra time in the quarter finals.

On Friday night Pairc Tailteann will host the tie of the round with the meeting of Kildalkey and Trim. Kildalkey are flying this year and are currently second in the Division 1 hurling league while Trim are a point off the bottom. Its a repeat of last years semi final when Kildalkey stunned the Town team to qualify for the decider. They met in round 5 of the league 2 weeks ago with The Village coming out on top 1-24 to 0-10.

Reigning champions Kiltale, currently top of the Division 1 league take on the 2014 IHC winners Dunderry. The champions are hitting high scores all year and the smart money would be on them to repeat this act on Saturday in Longwood.

Promoted Clann Na nGael take on Blackhall Gaels in Kildalkey. The losers of this one could have one eye on relegation come the business end of the season.
