FL Div 3: Dunderry edge out St Brigids

Dunderry 0-10  St Brigids 0-6 

Dunderry edged out St Brigids in this division 3 league match at Dunderry. The home team opened an early lead with a point from a free in the first minutes, but with some poor shooting and clinical defending from St Brigidsthey only registered one more point from a free at the 20th minute. 

The Brigids short a number of key players were boosted by the return of Brian Briody and Ryan Tighe began to come to grips and get a hold on the game, Joseph Blake got the Ballinacree side on the board with points from frees in the 19th and 28th minute. Blake finished the half with a well taken point in play to leave St Brigids ahead 0-3 to Dunderry 0-2 at the break. 

St Brigids opened the 2nd half with early points from Ryan Tighe and JosephBlake while Dunderry replied with 3 unanswered points to leave the game level at the ¾ stage. St Brigids pressed hard and raised the intensity and in the 52nd minute Micheal flood was through on goal only to see his shot skid of the crossbar to put St Brigids up with 8 minutes remaining.  

Dunderry took advantage of some loose play from St Brigids and scored 5 points in close succession to give the home team the win.

Strong defensive performances by Brian Briody, Philip Tuite and Micheal Flood along with Joseph Blake, A.J Gilsnean and Ryan Tighe up were the stand out St Brigids players.
