FL Div 2: Pillar to post win for Castletown against senior opponents

Castletown led from pillar to post against their senior opponents in showery conditions on Saturday evening in Batterstown. On 13 minutes the home team registered their first score but at that stage Castletown had 5 points on the board with points from Kevin Ross (0-02) and 1 each for Darren Finney, Tommy Smith and Shane Hoey. At halftime the visitors had increased their lead to 8 points with remaining points from Darren Finney who scored 4 more bringing his total to 5 points and then 1 each from Barry Smith and Kevin Ross who's total was 3 points in the first period.

Blackhall opened the scoring in the second period with a point on 36 minutes but the tie was put to bed with 54 minutes gone when a long ball into the Blackhall defense was won by Kevin Ross and he rattled the net with the games only goal. With further points from Darren Finney 2 more and 1 each from Ross Blaney and Kevin Ross. Castletown moved into 5th place in the league with this win. Next up for Castletown in the Division 2 league is a local derby against Rathkenny on Sunday 29th in Castletown.
