Kilbride  1-12 Walterstown 4-9

Played on a pristine surface in Kilbride on a perfect evening for football the U16s from Kilbride and Walterstown served up an exciting game of football to the sizeable crowd in attendance.

Playing towards the clubhouse in the 1st half Walterstown were 1st off the mark with a well taken pt but Kilbride settled better in those early stages and picked off 3pts of their own before the visitors replied with a pt & their 1st goal. For the remainder of the half the sides traded scores with Walterstown holding the upper hand as they found the net for a 2nd time just before the break.

The 2nd half started off with the sides trading a couple of scores before the game entered an exceptionally cagey 15mins scoreless spell. As the game entered the final 10mins with Walterstown 5pts to the good, the game sparked back into life with the sides eventually finding their range. Kilbride for their part were rewarded for their perseverence and drew the game level. In the final 5mins Walterstown awakened from their slumber & hit a purple patch of their own with Kilbride unable to stem the Walterstown tide with the Black's picking off 01:03 without reply and running out solid winners.
