St Ultans 3-8 Nobber 2-9
A home game for St Ultans started well as Jason Bennett took control of the back line catching and clearing some vital chances by Nobber. In the 7th min Conor Smyth intercepted a missed judged pass by Nobber to give St Ultans their first goal of the game. This was soon cancelled out when Cian Farnan took his eye of the ball to let it slip into the back of the net to make the score 1 goal apiece.
Nobber continued to rally with 3 well worked points before Smyth got his first point to stop the rot, this was helped by Eugene Brady who finished a lovely goal from the 21 yard line. St Ultans knocked over more points from Emmet Costello and Geroid Rennicks and in the 22nd min Emmet Costello sent home a penalty to boost St Ultans into the break as the first half ended St Ultans 3-3 to Nobber's 2-3.
Nobber came out in the second half sending over a point from play, but St Ultans fought hard to keep nobber at bay with points from Geroid Rennicks and Kevin Galligan. Things were made difficult for the home side as Declan Galligan was awarded a second yellow for fouling which earned his sending off. In the dying minutes Nobber's never say die attitude got 3 more points, but time ran out and St Ultans took the honors with a well deserved team effort.
