Donaghmore/Ashbourne Too Strong for Na Fianna

Na Fianna: 0-7 Don/Ash: 3-17

Donaghmore/Ashbourne had too much for Na Fianna on Saturday night in Ashbourne as they inflicted a heavy defeat on the South Meath side in the first round of the AFL.

Bryan Menton had the ball in the net in the first minute and it was always going to be uphill from there for a youthful Na Fianna side. At half time the lead was 2-13 to 0-1 with the game over as a contest.

Na Fianna host St Pat's on Sunday in the second round and will hope to show a vast improvement to get an important win.

Na Fianna: Shane Geraghty, John Baldwin, Daniel Gleeson, Rob Walsh, Micky Collins (0-1), Ciaran Holton, Damien Downey, Ollie Lewis, Cian Slattery, Daniel Queeney (0-2), Harry Silke (0-1), Peter Slevin, Barry Clancy (0-1), James Geagan, Barry Slevin (0-1). Subs: Lee Hyland (0-1), Paul Kennedy, Andrew Glynn, Jamie McCormack.
