Schools: Mount Hanover too strong for Ballinacree

Mount Hanover made up for the disappointment of losing last years final when comfortably beating Ballinacree in the last game of the day, the Allianz Meath Cumann Na mBunscol Boys Division 5 final at Pairc Tailteann.

The winners got off to a great start when Dylan Collins found the back of the Ballinacree net. Dylan Briody put Ballinacree on the scoreboard before Mount Hanover took over adding 4-3 without reply.

Lucas McKeen, whose Dad Angus represented Ireland at the 1999 Rugby World Cup, sent over three points. Ben Sullivan, son of former Meath keeper Cormac added goal before the impressive Alan Bowden raise the green flag three times in quick possession. Ballinacree's only response was a Nicole Smith point as Mount Hanover finished the half with another 1-1 to go in at the break 6-5 to 0-2 in front.

McKeen extended that lead early in the second half with another three points. Ballinacree then enjoyed their best spell of the game and were rewarded with a brace of points from Luke Blake. Their revival was short lived. Bowden got in for his fourth goal and the game was as good as over midway through the half.

It may have been a disappointing result for Ballinacree's but Nicole Smith's goal with ten minutes remaining was one of the highlights of the game. Mount Hanover substitute Conor McGinty wrapped up proceedings with a goal and a point.

After the game Mount Hanover captain Conor McQuail Leech was presented with the Division 5 Cup.
