St. Michaels 2-3 Donaghmore Ashbourne 5-7
Donaghmore Ashbourne booked a place in the minor final following this clinical win over the St. Michaels ladies in ideal conditions in Ashbourne on Sunday afternoon. The home side got off to a brilliant start with 2 goals in the opening four minutes however St. Michaels overcame their nervous start and were on level terms by the twelfth minute through a pointed free from Seona Lynch and a goal apiece from Marion Farrelly and Gillian Brogan. This comeback was short lived however and Donaghmore Ashbourne tagged on a further unanswered 2-3 to lead by 4-4 to 2-1 at the break.
The second half had a more competitive air to it, but the damage had already been done, Donaghmore Ashbourne had a grip on things and they weren't prepared to let go and during the closing 30 minutes they looked winners all the way as St. Michaels could only manage a further 2 points from frees from Seona Lynch.
