The Keegan Cup was first contested in 1953 with Navan O'Mahonys the inaugural winners and the late Tony McCormack the first ever recipient of the cup.

Then in 1956 the Keegan Cup returned to Syddan for the only time when the club triumphed with a SFC final victory over Skryne.

In all 16 different clubs have won the Keegan Cup so far with Navan O'Mahonys heading the list with 19 victories.

Restoration work on Tom Keegan's headstone, which was erected by the Meath Co Board following his tragic death in 1940, has been completed.

It is planned to have winning Keegan Cup captains, chairmen of Meath Co Board who had the honour of presenting the Cup down the years, and other GAA dignitaries present on the day.

The club has also compiling a special commemorative brochure to mark the occasion.
