U6's Game Debut & Jersey Presentation

The thrill of running out in front of your parents is every young juvenile GAA player's dream, running out to take part in your seasonable debut at U6's with your new jerseys is another. Last month seen our U6's which is led by Adrian Mulholland & his wonderfull team of mentors make their debuts in their recent Go Games friendly. With the vist of St.Marys Donore U6's the kids played two games. This is the first of what will be many games for these young starlets and to get the taste of playing against opposition teams been able to get precious first-hand experience of being a GAA star on the biggest stage to the support of their own supporters while showcasing their skills. It's an opportunity for both clubs not just St.Patricks Gaa but also the opposition to show all parents the work being done at grass roots level within clubs to promote and develop our games and also a chance for these children to be 'bitten by the bug' by providing them with a chance to experience just what it's like to play hopefully one day on the biggest stage of all.

The buzz and excitement of being part of the inaugural U6's games will provide memories that will last a lifetime and hopefully with the feedback from the parents and children involved shows just what a special occasion it is for those. The children's partiscipation with the shared thrill of living out the dream of being able to grace the same field as the senior stars of today. And whether in their minds if they won or lost on the day they all leave with the same dream too - to one day make it & come the ranks of St.Patricks Gaa & as a senior inter county hero too. However one should not forget the ethos set in place at this level should be "playing to learn". Prior to the games Adrian Mulholland & his teams of mentors gave out the new jerseys for the U6's. Well done to all the children who made their debuts against St.Mary's of Donore, to the great management team and mentors for their continuous tuition and to the parents for the wonderfull support towards both teams. With the presentation of Medals for both teams when the games were completed followed by refreshments for all adults & children.

Meath Gaa Summer Cul Camps

July & August seen the completion of the annual Meath Gaa Cul Camps with St.Patricks Gaa Club Facilities been host grounds for both codes of the sport. Kellogg's GAA Cúl Camps provided boys and girls - between the ages of 6 and 13 - with an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays which revolves around maximizing enjoyment and sustaining participant involvement in Gaelic Games. The camps were structured so that a different aspect of the game was worked on each day. The programme envolved coaching specific skills of the game and the opportunity for children to put into practice what they have learned through small sided games. Many thanks to all at Meath Coaching Game & Development & Cul Camp Coordinator is Dudley Farrell for a great camp experience. See you all 2016.

Senior & Junior Football

In the ACFL Div 1 & final round of league games seen St.Pats travel to Batterstown to play Blackhall Gaels & came away with a 1pt win 2:11 (17) to 1:15 (18). St.Pats finish in 4th place some may say a great season others may differ and say a poor one. One thing for sure its a hell of a lot more better looking than last season's table. If only this season's games 8,9,10,11 losing 4 on the trot had of been different. The lads need to built on this season, take the positives and believe that 2016 & Stamullen could be the home of the Mooney Cup. Thanks to all that supported the Senior Mens team this year not just for home matches but also those that traveled to away games also. While in the B League Walterstown was the venue as St.Pats made the visit in round 9 & suffered defeat 0:16 to 0:02.

LGFA Summer League Finals

The finals of our LGFA girls In house summer league took place on Friday evening 8th August. First up was the Shield Final with Fierce & Fab v The Smurfs. This game was end to end from start to finish with both teams counter attacking at pace time and time again. It was the Smurfs that were doing most of the damage in the first half with solid defending and quick ball into the forward line. The first half finished with The Smurfs on the top having built up a significant lead. The second half started with the same pattern, The Smurfs on top but them something changed with Fierce and Fab began to get a foothold and began to eat into the Smurfs lead.. This game was in the balance right up to the final moment until Ali Sullivan hit the back of the net with what was the last kick of the ball & steal victory much to the delight of the Fierce & Fab mentors & supporters. Next up was the big one the League Final , The Great Greens v The Pink Panthers It was The Great Greens who settled into the tempo of the match quicker but all credit to The Pink Panthers who levelled the match 15 minutes into the game. The Great Greens stepped up another gear as they have done time and time again throughout the league to lead by 5 points at the half time interval. The second half started with The Great Greens again in full flow but credit to the The Pink Panthers who never gave up and ensured that The Great Greens would have to work hard to win this title. So then Huge congrats to The Great Greens and their mentors who were the most consistent team throughout the whole campaign who deserved to be crowned 2015 Summer League Champions. Thanks to all the ladies who took on the roles of mentors and to Ollie Bowe who once again gave up his time to attend these finals and in his speech after the presentation.
