Summerhill advanced to the division B final after an impressive second half display in Carlanstown on Monday evening last. St. Michaels who were minus three regulars made a game of it in the opening half when Ray Reilly proved an inspirational figure for them. Reilly was central to everything that was positive in his side's football and movement in the opening half scoring 1-5 of his sides opening half tally of 1-6 to trail by just a point at the break. Ewan Moran was St. Michaels only other score getter.
Summerhill came out with all guns blazing in the second period and had 1-4 on the board before Reilly got St. Michaels opening second half point on 42 minutes and the visitors could do nothing wrong in front of the posts for the remainder of the half firing in another 1-2 to book a place in the final with Seneschalstown. Along with Ray Reilly, Shane McCormack, Mickey Dunne and Christopher Drew were others who played well for St. Michaels.
