St. Colmcilles leap frogged St. Michaels at the top of the division 2 league table after this 4 point victory in Pilltown on Thursday evening. Devoid of numerous regular players through injury, St. Michaels opened their account through a Robbie Briody point in the second minute, the home side got off the mark with a point a minute later and both sides traded a further point apiece, with Kevin Cassidy on target for the visitors before a great ball in from Peter O'Connell was met by Ronan Lynch who sent it to the back of the net to go 1-2 to 0-2 in front after 8 minutes. The home side however didn't take long to stamp their authority on the match and for the remainder of the half fired over 5 points, 3 from frees as St. Michaels lost their discipline in their own half giving away free after free and could only manage a further point at the opposite end from Oran Meehan to trail by the the minimum at half time 1-4 to 0-8.
