May 18, 2015

Dunsany's Ger O'Neill

Dunsany 2-10
Clann na nGael 1-6

Dunsany battled and came away from Athboy with the points on Saturday evening.

In a slow start but teams exchange early frees, with Nathan Pleavin dispatching with ease for the visitors. Dunsany gradually became more dominant in meath field and the inside forward line of Seanie Doyle, Ger O'Neill and Cathal Murphy began to click and cause trouble for the Clann na nGael backs. O'Neill kicked 1-1 in the first half with Doyle contributing the same tally. Christopher Smyth and Paul O'Donnell added further points to give Dunsany the lead at the break.

After the break the home side rallied and slowly began to take control. They began creating a number of goal chances which were excellently stopped by Ciaran Flynn. After this purple patch for the Athboy/Raithcairn side, Dunsany took control and saw the came out thanks to points from Pleavin Murphy and substitute David Parnell.
