Teams from four counties will contest the first ever Kilskyre Hurling 7's at the end of the month. 16 teams are all set to take part. It includes the Meath senior and Intermediate champions Kiltale and Dunderry along with Monaghan senior winners Castleblayney. There are 3 clubs from neighbouring Westmeath, Delvin, Clonkill and Brownstown while Mullahoran make the trip from Cavan.
The tournament is run in conjunction with the Kilskyre Festival Barn Dance and runs from May 29th to June 1st. The highlight of the weekend as the 'Irish Garth Brook's Tribute Band' who will take centre stage in the 'Big Red Barn' at Kilskyre Hurling Club on Saturday the 30th of May.
The Big Red Barn is an American Style Barn that will be constructed at the park in Kilskyre to give that total country theme. This promises to be a once in a lifetime experience for the community and a great opportunity to invite your friends and family near and far.
This is a fund raising event for the National School as part of their development plans and for the Hurling Club to build kids facilities at the park.
