Positive start for Dunboyne camogs

April 15, 2015

Dunboyne had four points to spare over Killyon.

Dunboyne 0-09
Killyon 0-05

Dunboyne Senior Camogiers got their 2015 championship campaign off to a positive start with a win over Killoyn on Tuesday. Neither team could have asked for better conditions on a glorious day in Killyon.

Both teams started off well with point for point scoring, however it was Dunboyne who went in ahead at half time with some great scores from Sinead Hackett, Aisling Garvey and Aoife Thompson.

Half time score Dunboyne 0-06 Killyon 0-02.

The camogie played in the second half left little to be desired by either team with 3 scores from Hackett, completing the only scores Dunboyne would get. Killyon also only scored 3 points in the second half, and but for determined defence by Dunboyne's Chloe Coyne, Ellen Burke and Lisa Carroll, last minute  bullet shot at goals, by Killyon's star player Aoife Maguire, could have drawn the game.

While a win is a great start to Championship, Dunboyne know a much better performance will be expected from them, and needed, over the course of the championship in order to achieve the momentum of 2014
